Three Months Of Covid-19Over the last few months how we live and learn has changed drastically. We are facing a global pandemic. Our world is a way different now than it was before COVID-19. One of the many things that have been hardly hit by this pandemic is education. We are now forced to practice social-distancing to control the transmission of the virus. Schools, colleges, and universities are closed; education like many other things has gone online. Teachers and students are facing a huge challenge of teaching and learning in a new way. This is an important shift in the education sector, which will leave an important impact on both learners and teachers.

They still are saying that this virus would not be going anytime soon. Public health experts say that if we do not follow social distancing measures then this crisis can create havoc. Every hospital in the country will be full of infected people. We still cannot cater to all these patients. Teachers are constantly facing the pressure of teaching the subjects that are difficult to teach online like math and stat. they think that students find a hard time understanding it on the screen.

Keeping students engaged in online classes is also another demanding task. Students do not participate in online classes as they do in the class. Education has undergone significant remodelling in the past few months. We know that online education can never replace campus education but we need to find ways to teach students in the best possible way. Remote learning is a new thing for many students and teachers thus we need to develop patterns that help in learning, teaching, and engaging. First, we need to make sure that every student can get easy access to internet connections. We have been using technology for education always. But it only included writing on MS Word and making presentations on PowerPoint. But distance learning is something completely different. Let us see what educators should have learned from three months of COVID-19:

Online education for kids is way different than for adults studying in colleges and universities. Educators are having a tough time in engaging kids in online classes. So, this is high time we introduce game-based learning for the kids in online education. It will help in making hem creative and attentive in the quarantine period. In some places, teachers are making the use of only audio to teach students. In this way, students do not pay attention to what is being taught. You cannot ensure a student’s presence in the class this way. Even if they attend lectures, they do not participate in discussions. Educators need to make sure that they take every student on the video call to ensure the attendance of every student. The video call will also help in engaging students and ensuring their participation in the lesson.

The education sector has undergone significant remodelling in the past few months. We know that online education can never replace campus education but we need to find ways to teach students in the best possible way. We should understand that online classes cannot operate the way school classes used to. We are saying this because many students and parents are reluctant to adopt online learning methods due to security reasons. More than three months into online learning we have explored many pros and cons of shifting the education system online.
